Mexico's government says a Canadian tourist has been killed and 13 other people injured when a man with a gun opened fire at the Teotihuacan pyramids.

A Canadian tourist was killed and six others injured in a shooting at the Teotihuacán Pyramids on Monday. Officials are increasing security presence and surveillance at tourist sites ahead of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The shooting took place shortly after 11:30 a.m., when dozens of tourists were at the top of the Pyramid of the Moon.
