The iterative upgrades for iPads may not be enticing enough to warrant a new purchase every year, but Apple may have a particularly cool upgrade to convince users to shell out for the next iPad Pro. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman,

In a bid to enhance the performance of its iPad Pro, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is reportedly planning to incorporate a vapor chamber into the device. This feature has been instrumental in improving the performance of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models.

Apple is preparing to bring the iPhone 17 Pro’s vapor chamber cooling system to the iPad Pro, with the change likely landing in the 2027 model, according to Bloomberg. The feature, already rolled out on this year’s iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max,

The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max feature a vapour chamber, a liquid-cooling technology that effectively dissipates heat from processors.

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) (AAPL:CA) is developing a new vapor chamber cooling system for an upcoming iPad Pro, targeting a launch as early as 2027, as part of a broader push to enhance device performance and differentiate its premium tablets from the iPad Air,

With the M4 iPad Pro last year, Apple already overhauled the cooling system – bringing a copper heatsink that dissipates heat through the Apple logo on the back of the tablet. That isn’t enough apparently,

To help differentiate the lineup from the iPhone Air, the M6 iPad Pro is expected to get the same cooling technology that's in the iPhone 17 Pro in the spring of 2027.
