Have you used a carbide scraper? It’s my go-to when I have a thick topcoat to remove. It’s as simple as gently pushing while scraping. After using the carbide scraper to remove the top coat, I use 220 grit sandpaper to remove any excess….and ta-da! Ready for the next step.
