It’s a scale (usually 1–10) that tells you how hard a set actually feels, not just what’s written on paper. • RPE 6 → You could do ~4 more reps • RPE 7 → ~3 reps left • RPE 8 → ~2 reps left • RPE 9 → ~1 rep left • RPE 10 → Max effort. No reps in reserve. Why use it? Because strength isn’t linear. Sleep, stress, nutrition, and recovery change daily. RPE lets you auto-regulate load while still training with intent. Same program.
